Cedarville’s Lady Pirates finished second at the 3A-1 West Junior High District Meet on Thursday.

Green Forest won the girls’ division by 9.5 points as Cedarville finished with 135.5.

The Pirates took third behind a heated contest between Elkins and Green Forest. Elkins won with 193 points while Green Forest had 192.

The Lady Pirates won two events. Morgan Williams won the 200 (30.24 seconds) and Allie Arnold won the 100-meter hurdles.

Williams was also third in the shot put (28 feet, 2.5 inches), fourth in the triple jump (26-9.5), and fifth in both the 100 (14.41) and the 400 (1 minute, 15.52 seconds).

Arnold grabbed second in four events. She was second in the long jump (14-7.25), the 300-meter hurdles (57.13), the 100 (14.03) and the 200 (30.25). Arnold was also sixth in the triple jump (26-1.5).

Aaron Lawson, Jeffery Buccille, Damian King and William Simpson won the 3,200-meter relay (10:06.68).

Andrew Hernandez won the shot put (38-7). He was also third in the 110-meter hurdles (19.84), fourth in the 100 (12.56), seventh in the long jump (15-11.5).

Cruz Rhea won the discus (137-10).

Lady Pirates

Cierra Henry seized second in the 1,600 (6:42.28) and third in the 800 (3:00.13).

Jordan Knight, Briana Reding, Hannah Evans, and Henry were second in the 3,200-meter relay (12:25.38).

Bailie Murphy, Knight, Henry and Williams were third in the 1,600-meter relay (5:13.33).

Knight finished fourth in the 400 (1:15.17) and fifth in the 800 (3:02.38).

Reding took fifth in the 1,600 (7:03.2).

Maria Crabtree, Patience Strelow, Hanna Mooney and Angel Sousa were fifth in the 400-meter relay (1:04.66).

Murphy placed fifth in the triple jump (26-3), was sixth in both the 400 (1:15.8) and the 1,600 (7:04.04), and eighth in the high jump (3-8).

Evans clinched sixth in the 300-meter hurdles (1:02.26) and was tied for sixth in the high jump (4-0).


Jerrad Pardue, Buccille, Tyler Turner and Simpson were second in the 1,600-meter relay (4:25.08).

Simpson was also second in the discus (111-10), fifth in the high jump (5-0) and sixth in the 1,600 (5:46.39).

Caleb Stockton, Turner, Cody Mongold and Pardue were third in the 400-meter relay (53.41).

Dillon Strelow finished fourth in the high jump (5-0) and sixth in the 400 (1:00.72), the 110-meter hurdles (20.41) and the triple jump (33-9).

Brett Shelton seized fourth in the discus (99-2).

King placed fifth in the 400 (59.31), and sixth in both the 300-meter hurdles (52.28), and the long jump (16-6).

Lawson nabbed fifth in the 1,600 (5:44.91) and sixth in the 800 (2:38.42).

Mongold took fifth in the triple jump (33-11.25).

Pardue grabbed seventh in the 400 (1:01.74) and eighth in the 100 (12.82).

Steven Huffstettler finished seventh in both the 110-meter hurdles (20.55) and the 300-meter hurdles (52.39).

Kyle Gregory clinched seventh in the shot put (31-0.5).

Turner seized eighth in the 110-meter hurdles (22.03) and Damian Adams was also eighth in the shot put (31-0).
