Van Buren’s Kaleb Coble fired off a 78 as the Pointers finished seventh among 10 teams at the Springdale Invitational on Wednesday.
Mattison Griffin had a 112 and the Lady Pointers were fourth of five teams that competed the day before.
Van Buren finished with a team 352, 40 strokes behind the winner, Harrison. Jackson Mareseilles earned medalist honors for Harrison as he shot 69. Coble carded the lowest score for the Pointers as he finished eighth overall.
Other Van Buren participant included Connor Thomas, who had an 84, and Payton Wahman, who recorded a 91. Both Stephen Turner and Trevor Harris both had a 99.
Bentonville’s Hanna Brauburger led the women’s division with an 82 and five of the Lady Tigers finished in the Top 6. Griffin and Har-Ber’s Hadley Apple both tied for 10 th.
Bentonville won with a 251 and Fayetteville was runner up (318). Van Buren finished with 349 as only the Top 3 scorers from each school counted to the total.
Lady Pointers Jaelyn Cooper (118) and Jamilyn Kinney (119) also participated.
Van Buren will compete at the Southside Invitational at Ben Geren on Aug. 11 and 12 before hosting Union Christian on Aug. 18 at Eagle Crest.
