RUSSELLVILLE – The Great American Conference announced the league’s Runners of the Week for the third week of the 2015 season. Oklahoma Baptist’s Abby Hoover earned the Women’s award and East Central’s Juan-Joel Pacheco Orozco claimed the Men’s honor.

GAC Women’s Runner of the Week – Abby Hoover, Oklahoma Baptist, Jr., Claremore, Oklahoma

Hoover placed fifth out of 226 competitors at the Missouri Southern Stampede, a tough regional meet. Her 5K time of 17:23.68 helped her team to an overall fourth-place finish. The Bison turned in the top performance among the seven GAC team at the meet.

GAC Men’s Runner of the Week – Juan-Joel Pacheco Orozco, East Central, Sr., Mexico

Pacheco Orozco helped the Tigers claim the title at the at the 25-team Missouri Southern Stampede. In his first race of the 2015 season, he finished in third place with a time of 24:43.36. The Tigers edged out Nebraska-Kearney by three points in the team competition.
