Winter weather claimed the finals of the District 4A-4 tournament in Dardanelle and the finals of the 2A-4 tournament in Hackett on Monday.

Because the Arkansas Activities Association’s regional basketball tournaments begin on Wednesday, coaches agreed ahead of time to seed the tournament the way they finished the regular season.

The regular-season champion Lady Rebels and No. 2 Mountainburg Lady Dragons are the first and second seeds from the 2A-4.

Hackett and Magazine are the No. 3 and No. 4 seeds from the 2A-4.

Mountainburg 43, Hackett 33 (Women’s)

The Lady Dragons reached the finals of the 2A-1 West Conference tournament as Kaylyn Moore scored 21 points and by defeating Hackett on Saturday.

The Lady Hornets led 9-6 in the first quarter, but the Lady Dragons (14-13) battled back and tied up the contest, 20-all by halftime.

Mountainburg limited Hackett to just two points in the third quarter and took the lead, 28-22. Addison Peters added 11 points with six rebounds and Britton Peters tossed in seven points.

Scranton 57, Mulberry 33 (Women’s)

The Lady Rockets scored 23 points in the third quarter to win Friday’s 1A-1 West Conference semifinal contest.

Lexi Voorhees paced Mulberry with 14 points and Sam Cagle added seven. The Lady YellowJackets will participate in the regional meet after defeating St. Paul 64-43 on Feb. 19 at Scranton.

The Lady YellowJackets begin regional play at 7 p.m. on Thursday.

Scranton 52, Mulberry 42 (Men’s)

The YellowJackets were able to keep pace with Scranton through the first quarter, but the team was outscored in the second as the Rockets took off to advance to the conference finals.

Both teams were tied 6-6 at the end of the first, but Scranton took a 19-7 lead at halftime.

Mulberry battled back in the third quarter by scoring 17 points, but Scranton still led 37-24 at the start of the fourth.

Luke Anderson led with 16 points and both Trevor marvin and Keegan Brake had eight each.

Shawn Price added six.

Mulberry 64, St. Paul 43 (Men’s)

The YellowJackets grabbed a win at the conference tournament punched their ticket to the regionals as four players reached double digits in the win on Wednesday.

Marvin led with 17 points and Anderson added 14. Drew Ball had 12 and Brake tossed in 11.

Mulberry led 35-17 at halftime and was up 52-27 after three quarters of play.
