FAYETTEVILLE — The Houston Rockets have signed former Arkansas guard B.J. Young to a three-year contract, according to the Houston Chronicle.
The exact terms of the contract were not known, but the newspaper reported it had a "small first-year guarantee." Young signed with the organization after playing for Houston’s summer league team in Orlando, Fla., earlier this month.
Young — who left Arkansas after his sophomore season — was not selected in the 2013 NBA Draft.
He joined Houston’s summer league team as a free agent and averaged 11.8 points, 1.8 assists, 1.5 rebounds and 18.5 minutes in four games. It included a 15-point outing against the Brooklyn Nets last Thursday and a 20-point performance in a championship game loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder a day later.
