The Airedales are still seeking their first win of the season as Alma travels to face the Heritage War Eagles.

It will be the first meeting between the two teams. However, Alma coach Rusty Bush has faced Heritage eight times in the past 10 years with the Grizzlies leading the series 5-3 including last year’s meeting as Northside won 36-7.

Heritage (1-1) won its first game of the season last week as it dispatched Springfield Central (Mo.) 55-12.

The War Eagles opened the year with a 24-6 loss to Farmington.

The Airedales had 209 yards on the ground with Logan Chronister leading the team with 113 yards on 21 carries (5.4 ypc). Conner Stacy added 10 carries for 44 yards and a touchdown.

Mountainburg at Hackett

The Dragons travel to Sebastian County to meet up with long-time conference rival in a non-league tilt.

Mountainburg was to face Lavaca last week, but the game was canceled on Friday afternoon before kickoff due to positive cases of COVID-19 on campus. The Lavaca School District canceled all athletic activities and events.

The Hornets are rolling with a pair of wins. Hackett began the season in a slugfest with Pocola (Okla.) and won 68-42. Last week, Hackett defeated Panama (Okla.) 12-7.

The Hornets have moved to the 3A-1 Conference this cycle along with Lavaca and will face Cedarville in league contests.
