Crawford County Speedway had 111 cars participate on its first full night racing on May 23.

Another round of racing is set for tonight starting at 7:30 p.m. with A Modified, B Modified, Grand Nationals, Pure Stock, and Mini Stock. Front Wheel Drive will not race this week.

The track was set to open in mid-March but was shut down to respond to the global outbreak of COVID-19.

A Modified

Mike Hanson, who had a couple of second-place finishes last season, won the feature event while Randy Henson placed second. Robbie Gates was third followed by Paul Kramer and Dylan Coughran.

Grand National

Danny Southerland picked up his first win of the season and JJ Harvey finished second. Southerland had two wins with four runner-up finishes last season. Grant Davis took third while Stan Anderson and Landon Price rounded out the Top 5.

B Modified

Brandon Hunter and Zane Hunter claimed the top spots in the main feature race. Zane Hunter, who finished second, had one win in 2019. Eric Waterbury had a couple of Top 5 finishes last season and nabbed third. Stan Anderson earned fourth. Tye Hollingsworth was fifth.

Jr. Owens placed first in the B Feature race.

Pure Stock

Chuck Smith collected the first Pure Stock feature win of the season as he finished ahead of 20 other cars, the largest field during CCS’s first night of racing.

Dallas Bourland was second and Rick Edgerton, who had three wins last season, captured third. Michael Brash and Tyler Watkins took fourth and fifth respectively.

Front Wheel Drive

Aaron Dyer placed first in the feature event. Mark Small earned second followed by Brandon Garner, Daniel Smedley, and Wilson Hale.

Mini Stock

Dean Hughes won the feature race while Travis Boyster, last year’s Mini Stock champion, finished second. Hughes had nine Top 3 finishes in 2019 with two victories. Boyster placed in the Top 5 11 times last season with a couple of wins. Erwin Davis secured third, his highest finish in the last two seasons, in front of Jeremie Boyster and Duncan Thomas was fifth.
