Alma standout heads to JBU for basketball and education.
Former Alma guard Nathan Corder signed a letter of intent with John Brown University Tuesday.
“I’ve always wanting to be like all the guys (players) that have been ahead of me, and that have gone through this process on their own, now it’s me that’s in their situation,” Corder said. “It’s almost surreal. I didn’t ever imagine that it would happen.
“But it’s crazy that it finally did.”
“Nathan is relentless and we believe he embodies what John Brown University is about,” JBU coach Jason Beschta said. “He’s going to be about his teammates overall and about others. He has toughness, and that’s something that we value — guys that are tough on the court and off the court.”
Corder signed his letter of intent surrounded by family, friends, and teammates.
“It was overall the best fit for me and my family,” Corder said. “I got up there and I enjoyed everything about it. I enjoyed all the players and coach Beschta was great to me. It’s also close to home; my parents can still be part of everything and come to games.”
