Alma swimmers earn first at invitational.

The Alma Airedales swim team competed at the Siloam Springs Invitational at John Brown University on Tuesday.

Competing in the 5A Division, junior Savannah Martin won the 50 freestyle with a time of 25.99 and she took first in the 100 breaststroke (1:12.39).

Martin’s first place finishes also helped her qualify for the state meet.

Junior Madalyn Satterfield won the 100 free (1:04.11) and was fourth in the 50 free (28.67).

Senior Kyla Murders was second 100 breaststroke (1:20.21), and was third in the 50 free (28.33). Senior Madison Shankle placed second (1:04.75) in the 100 free and fifth (29.52) in the 50 free.

Tabor Shores, a freshman, was third (1:14.79) in the 100 free and ninth (33.03) in the 50 free.

The girls relay team won the 200 medley relay.

Freshman Gabe Jensen had two first place finishes in the 50 freestyle (27.35) and 100 freestyle (1:05.57).

Alma’s next meet is Jan. 7.
