Tammy Lynn Hempel, 53, of Van Buren passed away Friday, April 22, 2016, at a Little Rock Hospital. She and her husband were owners and operators of The Starter Shop in Van Buren. She was a longtime resident of Crawford County and loved reading, sewing, crocheting, scrolling and fishing. She was preceded in death by her mother, Thelma (Dodd) Warren.

She is survived by her husband, Chris Hempel of the home; four sons, Derek Hempel of Alma, Trevor Hempel of Lake Jackson, Texas, and Daron Hempel and Travis Hempel, both of Van Buren; her father, Frank Warren of Van Buren; a sister, Michele Spears of Justin, Texas; four grandchildren, one niece and one nephew.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Ocker Memorial Chapel with burial at Roselawn Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren.

Pallbearers will be Derek Hempel, Trevor Hempel, Daron Hempel, Travis Hempel, Kevin Lindemann and Willie Nichols.

The family will visit with relatives and friends 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Ocker Funeral Home, 700 Jefferson St., Van Buren.
