Richard Henry Tedder III, 82, of Alma passed away Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013, at his home. He was a retired shop foreman for Scamardo Metal Fabricators in Fort Smith and a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. He was formerly of Atlanta, Ga., and had lived in Alma for over 30 years. He was of the Christian faith.

Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. today at Pope Cemetery Arbor with military honors under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Lou (Baker) Tedder of the home; two daughters, Sharyn Steinmetz of Fort Smith and Denise Furness and husband John of Greenwood; three sons, Stanley Tedder and wife JoAnn of Watkinsville, Ga., Steve Tedder and wife Kim of Lilburn, Ga., and Frank Steinmetz and wife Jane of Van Buren; one brother and sister-in-law, Don and Martha Tedder of Carrollton, Ga.; four grandchildren, Mandy Rice and husband Allen of Watkinsville, Ga., Anna Allen and husband John of Athens, Ga., Krista Tedder of Palm Harbor, Fla., and Kalyn Hill and husband Chase of Winder, Ga.; and six great-grandchildren, Eli, Kelsey and Cale Rice, Millie Allen and Aubree and Colsen Hill.
