Richard Joe Dye Sr., 76, of Van Buren passed away Saturday, June 11, 2016, at a local hospital. He was retired from OK Foods after 34 years. He was of the Baptist faith and a resident of this area all of his life. He and his wife were married on Sept. 16, 1958. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Nancy (Casey) Dye; and two brothers, Thomas (Duck) Dye and Jerry Dye.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Dye of the home; two daughters, Glenda Pittman and her husband Larry of Prairie Grove and Teressa Burger and her husband Chuck of Mountainburg; two sons, Richard Dye and his wife Michelle of Alma and David Dye of Van Buren; two sisters, Nancy Keller of Fairfax, Okla., and Freda Beavers of Van Buren; four brothers, Charles Dye of Roland, Joe Dye and Ben Dye, both of Van Buren, and Ronnie Dye of Alma; 15 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Gill Cemetery under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren.
Pallbearers will be Richard Dye Jr., David Keith Dye, Jimmy Sullivent III, Dustin Burger, Heath Burger, David Dye and Cody Dye.
Honorary pallbearers will be Brett Polly, Chuck Burger, Larry Pittman, Amanda Sullivent, Casey Burger, Danielle Pittman, Ashley Henson, Brooke Francia, Rebekkah Hodges, Carlos Sanchez, Daniella Cervantes and Abigail Cervantes.
