Raul S. Betancourt, 65, of Van Buren passed away Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2015, at a local hospital. He was a machinist at Bekaert Steel for more than 20 years. He was a longtime resident of Crawford County and of the Christian faith. He enjoyed fishing, being a handyman and doing outdoor work. He was preceded in death by both his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon Betancourt of the home, two sons, Lewis Anderson of Fort Smith and Jason Anderson of Denver, Colo.; one niece, Dixie Pena of Miami Lakes, Fla; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and his beloved dog, Ramey.

Funeral service was Feb. 2 at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren.

Pallbearers were David Jernigan, Bobby Pigg, Scott Rogers, Devin Dyer, Ron Knight and Billy Harrell.

Honorary pallbearers were Greg Pense and Sean Jernigan.
