Paul "Mickey" Zuber, 99, of Van Buren passed away Monday, June 27, 2016, in Fort Smith. He was born Dec. 14, 1916, in Van Buren to the late Lee and Lillie Zuber. He was retired from Whirlpool and the U.S. Air Force after having served for 21 and 1/2 years, including tours in both World War II and Korea. He played football and ran track for the University of Arkansas and held the long-jump record for about 25 years. He taught ROTC at Texas Christian University and attended First Baptist Church in Van Buren. He was preceded in death by his wife of more than 50 years, Letha Zuber.

He is survived by a daughter, Randy Zuber Scott of Van Buren; a son, Michael Paul Zuber of Russellville; a sister, Margaret Ann McGrew of Hot Springs; a grandson, Christopher Scott of Van Buren; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.
