Jim Wilson, 77, of Mulberry passed away Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014, at a local hospital. He was born April 20, 1936, in Alma to Charlie and Mattie Wilson. He was a retired chief executive officer with the Department of Defense, U.S. Army. He was a presidential appointee under Presidents Reagan and Bush and served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was an ordained Baptist minister, a member of Alma Heights Baptist Church and a ham radio operator.

He is survived by his wife, JoAnn of the home; a daughter, Jamie Wollman, U.S. Army Garrison Humphreys, Pyeongtaek, South Korea, and her husband Bill of Van Buren; a son, Vaughn Wilson and wife Gina of Alma; five grandchildren, Emmett Reedy and wife Jenny Phomakay, Strom Reedy and wife Dustin, Specialist Kelsey Richards and husband Specialist Derek, Cheyenne Wilson and Luke Wilson; and a great-grandson, Zaeyn Richards.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Monday at Alma Heights Baptist Church with burial to follow at Pope Cemetery in the Graphic Community under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.

The family will visit with friends from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren.
