James Alfred Taylor, 49, of Florida, formerly of Van Buren, died Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2014, in Florida. He was born Feb. 12, 1965, in Van Buren. He was a minister, graduate of Northside High School, boys club coach and attended the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith, Tarkio College in Missouri and Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday school.

Funeral was March 1 at St. James Baptist Church. Burial was in Florida.

He is survived by his wife, Luvonne; a son, Joshua Taylor of Florida; his mother, Cathryn Fulbright of Fort Smith; his father, Alfred Ali of Detroit; three sisters, Andrea Collier and Karen Taylor, both of Fort Smith, and Sondra Taylor of Van Buren; and a brother, Thomas Christian of Nashville, Tenn.
