Irene L. James, 91, of Mulberry passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014, at a Van Buren hospital. She was a retired hairdresser and a member of the Assembly of God Church in Mulberry. She was preceded in death by her husband, Benham D. James. She was born Aug. 18, 1922, to the late Harvey and Lillie Pettigrew.

She is survived by three daughters, Lavern Gregory and Shirley Tweedy, both of Mulberry, and Frances Roe of Barling; two sisters, Lucille Clayton of Alma and Dewey Attaway of Van Buren; one brother, Paul Pettigrew of Phoenix, Ariz.; seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday at the Assembly of God Church in Mulberry with burial at New Cemetery in Mulberry under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Alma.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Aaron, Heath and Tyler Roe and Kendall, Keith and Kent Moore.

The family will visit with friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Ocker Funeral Home of Alma, 917 U.S. 64 East Alma.
