Gladston Clinton Phagan, 87, of Van Buern died Monday, Dec. 16, 2013. He was born in Buford, Ga., August 13, 1925, an Army veteran of World war II, and widower of Esther Ruth Phagan. He attended Zion Bible College in Zion, Ill., an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God for almost 58 years and pastored or ministered at churches in Indiana, Illinois, Arizona and Arkansas.

He is survived by a son, Rev. Bert Phagan of Brussels, Belguim; two daughters, Suzi Wiberg of Homer Glen, Ill., and Lori Trentham of Van Buren; five grandchildren and four gret-grandchildren.

Funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Calvary Assembly of God in Fort Smith. Burial with military honors will be at U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Abell, Rev. Cody Gilmore, Rev. Jerry Schlinker, Tim Trentham, Rev. Tim Smith and Rev. Ryan Rose. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of Memory Lane.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
