Edward (Eddie) Symonds, 70, of Rudy passed away Monday, April 18, 2016, at his home. He was a sales associate for Lowe’s Home Improvement Store in Van Buren and an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 8845. He was preceded in death by his parents, Van and Inez (Stallings) Symonds.
He is survived by two daughters, Monica Walters and her husband Paul of Prosper, Texas, and Kim Symonds of Muldrow; one son, Jason Symonds of Rudy; long-time companion, Ronda Blevins of Van Buren; one sister, Edith Mae Strickland of Kibler; four grandchildren, Baylee Staggs, Kelbey Walters, Evan Ross and Aaron May; one great-grandchild, Channing Ross.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the U.S. National Cemetery Arbor in Fort Smith under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren.
Pallbearers will be Paul Walters, Jeff Cluck, Evan Ross, Bobby Dunn, Jason Symonds, Aaron Cluck and Dewayne Miller.
Family will visit with relatives and friends 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Ocker Funeral Home, 700 Jefferson St., Van Buren.
