Dr. Henry Nathaniel Edwards, 63, of Van Buren entered into rest Friday, Feb. 21, 2014, in Van Buren. He was born Aug. 4, 1950, in Manhattan, Kan., to the late Roland and Mary Edwards. He graduated from the University of Kansas, studied for three years at KU Medical School in Wichita, Kan., and was a three-year internal medicine resident at KU Medical Center. He was a board certified in internal medicine and geriatrics and practiced for 34 years in Van Buren. He was a member of Heritage United Methodist Church and a member of Van Buren Rotary.
He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Jeanette Edwards; a son, Charles Edwards of Fayetteville; a daughter, Kristin Edwards and fiance Nathanial Brown of Denver; two brothers, Roland Edwards of St. Paul, Minn., and Stanley Edwards of Greely, Colo.; six nieces and two nephews.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Heritage United Methodist Church in Van Buren with private interment for pallbearers and family only at Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren.
Family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith. Viewing will be from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday at Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith and 10 a.m. until service time on Thursday at Heritage United Methodist Church in Van Buren.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Bart Sills and Dr. Charles Jennings.
