Dallas A. Summerhill of Vancouver, Wash., passed away Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2015, the day after his 77th birthday. He was born in Van Buren to Thomps and Mina (Shaw) Summerhill.
Dallas was owner/operator of Dallas Landscapes Inc. and attended the Crossroads Community Church.
He enjoyed family and friends, reading Western books, played the game Acquire, trips to Hawaii and Arkansas and collecting guns and marbles.
He was legendary in duplicating a real train whistle.
Dallas is survived by his wife, Betty; children, Sabrina Sheppard, Robin Bristow, Troy Summerhill and Cheree Wales; stepchildren, Sandra Femling, Michael Gilbert and Brian Gilbert; brothers, William R., Earl, Lawrence and Paul Summerhill; sisters, Mildred Uskoski and Reba Ball; 15 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Everett Sumerhill; and his first wife, Clavel M. Summerhill.
A memorial service was Sept. 19 at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Vancouver, Wash.
