Carolyn Jo Sharp, 56, of Van Buren lost her battle with cancer to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2014, surrounded by her mother and other loved ones.

Carolyn was born, Aug. 18, 1958, in Dallas, Texas, to Barbara (Wilson) Shuffler and Jimmy Shuffler. Carolyn was 56 years old and in this short time of her life she accomplished many things. She graduated from Mountainburg High in 1976. She went on to attend Sparks School of Radiology becoming a radiologic technologist. She worked several years at Sparks in their ER Department. She later moved to Dallas and obtained her degree in mammogram, CT and MRI.

Carolyn loved photography. She loved doing outdoor shots. She received several awards for her photography. She was a devoted Christian and was a member of Kibler Baptist Church. She loved spending her time helping the less fortunate. She even traveled to Africa doing missionary work for the Lord.

Carolyn leaves behind to cherish her memories her mother, Barbara Galli of Van Buren; her father, Jimmy Shuffler of Colorado Springs, Colo.; one brother, David Neaves of Colorado Springs, Colo.; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many long-time friends.

Carolyn’s memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Alma. Cremation is being entrusted to Ocker Funeral Home of Alma. Donations can be made to Sparks Peachtree Hospice.
