Bonnie Norine Moore, 68, of Rudy passed away Sunday, Dec. 15, 2013, at her home. She was a cashier for Paul’s Bakery in Van Buren. She was of the Protestant faith. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harlin and Norine (Benson) Houghtaling; one daughter, Paula Mary McDermid; and one brother, Harlin Houghtaling Jr.

Memorial service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren.

Family will visit with relatives and friends 30 minutes prior to service.

She is survived by her husband, Joe D. Moore of the home; one daughter, Portia McDermid of Kingsley, Mich.; one son, Bruce McDermid of Rudy; two stepdaughters, Malai Frix of Jacksonville, N.C., and Nadia Cornett of Fort Smith; one daughter-in-law, Cindy Parker of Alma; one stepson, Joshua Moore of Fort Smith, three sisters, Kay Ann Gooley of Rock Hill, N.C., Linda Bosco of Bay City, Mich., and Mary Jo Bailey of Florida; four brothers, Larry Silverthorn of Standish, Mich., David and Keith Houghtaling of Bay City, Mich., and Ronnie Houghtaling of Brighton, Mich.; stepmother, Elizabeth Houghtaling of Bay City, Mich.; stepfather, Charles Ballard Sr. of Peoria, Ariz.; one stepbrother, Charles Ballard Jr. of Kansas City, Mo.; two grandchildren, Jennifer and Hunter McDermid; and 10 stepgrandchildren.
