Alvia Boyd Stout, 82, died Sunday, Feb. 22, 2015, in Van Buren. He was born Oct. 13, 1932, was the widower of Thelma Stout and attend Bethlehem Freewill Baptist Church in Van Buren. He retired from Whirlpool in January 2000 with 40 years service and a veteran, serving with the 184th TAC Fighter Group from 1953-68.

He is survived by two sons, Timothy and Joel Stout, both of Van Buren; three daughters, Aletha Burgess of Greenwood, Peggy Poindexter of Huntsville, Ala., and Doris Jones of Barling; a sister, Louanna Shalley of Fort Smith; and a brother, Charles Stout of Guthrie, Okla.; 16 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren;

A celebration of life will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Bethlehem Freewill Baptist Church in Van Buren with burial at Parks Cemetery in Charleston under the direction of Lewis-Roberts Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith.

Pallbearers will be Aaron, Brian, Dustin, Nathaniel, Mykel and Joel Stout II, Robert Poindexter and Connor Burgess.

Visitation will be 6-7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Arkansas Chapter of the American Parkinson Disease Association.
