Sgt. Johnathan Mark Haywood, 24, of Van Buren passed away Sunday, Aug. 5, 2018, in El Paso, Texas. He was born Oct. 19, 1993, in Fort Smith. He was a tank mechanic serving in the U.S. Army, Company H, 123 Brigade Support Battalion, 3 BCT at Fort Bliss, Texas. He was preceded in death by a grandmother, Patsy Haywood.
He is survived by his wife, Amanda Haywood of El Paso; his parents, Mark and Beccy Haywood of Van Buren; two brothers, Matthew Haywood of Alma and Christopher Haywood of Van Buren; a sister, Stephanie Teague of Booneville; grandparents, Bob Haywood of Van Buren, and Stephen and Shirley Ragazzo of Van Buren; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Butterfield Assembly of God with interment to follow at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home in Van Buren.
The family will visit with friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday at Butterfield Assembly of God, 1302 North 30th, Van Buren.
