Jesse Lee Chasteen, 91, of Van Buren died Monday, Feb. 26, 2018, in Fort Smith. He was born Oct. 15, 1926, in Judsonia and was the widower of Betty Jean (Ellis) Chasteen. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and Korean War, painter and member of the Painter’s Union and New Life Church in Van Buren.
Funeral was March 2 at New Life Church. Burial with full military honors was at U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.
He is survived by two daughters, Kathy Adams of Mountain View and Susan Madron of Holdenville, Okla.; three sons, Daniel Lee Chasteen of Richmond, Va., and Leonard and Aaron Chasteen, both of Fort Smith; a sister, Frances Duncan of Heber Springs; a brother, James Chasteen of Garfield; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
