The Rev. Delbert Hodges Sr., 81, of Rudy died Monday, Feb. 19, 2018, in Fort Smith. He was born July 11, 1936, in Fort Smith. He attended Highway 71 Freewill Baptist Church and preached in Arkansas and Oklahoma. He was a Marine Corps veteran of the Korean Ward, member of the National Guard, scout master for Lavaca Troop 58 and widower of Grace Hodges.

He is survived by his wife, Naoma; a daughter, DeLaina McGee of Lavaca; three sons, David Hodges of Lavaca, Delbert Hodges Jr. of Greenwood and Tim Riggs of Van Buren; a stepdaughter, Pauletta Purvis of Choctaw, Okla.; a stepson, Gary Carney of Rudy; eight grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, five stepgrandchildren and seven stepgreat-grandchildren.

Funeral was Feb. 23 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Morrison Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Derrick Hodges, Carlos Hodges-Mondragon, Matt Holland, Juan Mondragon, Jamie Strickland and Quinten Brown.
