Betty “Louise” Peters, 82, of Alma passed away on Saturday, Dec. 9, 2017, at her home. She was a longtime resident of Crawford County and known as the quilting lady for 17 years. Betty was non-denominational in her faith and enjoyed watching her favorite preachers on Sunday morning. She loved watching cooking shows and also enjoyed cooking for her family. Betty will be deeply missed. She was born April 2, 1935, in Duncan, Okla., to the late Wilbern and Gladys (Reed) Hance. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Peters: two brothers, Doug and W.B. Hance; and two sisters, Joy Boyce and Phillis DeWitt.
Graveside service was Dec. 11 at Peters Cemetery near the Graphic Community under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Alma.
Survivors include one daughter, Linda Daugherty and husband Rick of Van Buren; one son, Eddie Peters and wife Debi of Rudy; two sisters, Patsy Brammer and husband Dick of Rudy and Muriel Suggs of Van Buren; three grandchildren, Brad Daugherty, Brooke Watson and Russell Duncan; four great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
