Betty Sue Younger, 83, of Roland, Okla., passed away Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2017, at a local hospital. She retired from Walmart, serving for 25 years. But, if you have asked her she would have said, “She is 39 and holding.” She was a member of the Church of God Seventh Day in Fort Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband, James “Tiny” Younger; both parents, Zeke and Viva (Osgood) Samples; one sister, Imogene Thompson; and four brother, John, Wayne, Joe and James Samples..

She is survived by one son, Terry James Younger and wife Thelma of Roland, Okla.; one sister, Louise Woods of Van Buren; four grandchildren, Rhianna Younger of Sallisaw, Okla., T.J. Younger and wife Stefani, Elizabeth “Libby” Moore and husband Chris and Joseph Younger, all of Roland, Okla.; and three great grandchildren, Lucas Younger, Armando Martinez and Vyva Younger.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Roland City Cemetery in Roland under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren

Pallbearers will be Anson Sample, Matt Sanders, Gary Younger, Mike Wilson, Josh Woods and Justin Brann.

Honorary pallbearers will be Carl Cowen, David Burrell, Tom Wells, Rocky Rockman, Jerry Ralls, Darren Burgess and Vernon Pulliam.

The family will visit with relatives and friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Ocker Funeral Home, 700 Jefferson St., Van Buren.
