Reverend Edward E. Head, 84, of Mountainburg passed away on Monday, Sept. 25, 2017, at a local hospital. He was a member and minister of New Beginnings Pentecostal Church of God in Mountainburg and a retired U.S. Navy Seabee, serving in the Korean and the Vietnam wars. He was born Aug. 23, 1933, in Oceola, Ark.

Survivors include his wife, Sue Head of the home; one daughter, Michele Williams and husband Lee of Fort Smith; two sons, Jeff Head and wife Cindy of Fayetteville and Michael Head and wife Linh of Van Buren; four sisters, Betty Freeman, Linda Scott and Darlene Gatchell, all of Michigan, and Pat Cox of Florida; one brother, Terry Head of Michigan; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral service was Sept. 29 at New Beginnings Pentecostal Church of God in Mountainburg with interment at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith with full military honors under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Alma.

Pallbearers were Austin, Michael and Jeff Head, Matthew Baker, Steve Williams, Lee Williams and Frankie Dietz.
