The Center For Art and Education in Van Buren has announced the return of summer art camps for children, including some new and extended classes.

Kimberly Wells, program coordinator, said registration is open by calling the art center at (479) 474-7767 or going to the website and www.art-ed.org.

Camps include:

WeeDraw, ages 3 to 6 years

This year CAE added a second week.

$15 per child per session or $75 for the week

Parents must stay with child during this program

As presented by the Arkansas Arts Council at the 2016 Art Links, tinkering is a build your own world experience using technology and engineering

CAE also will sponsor community art camps. Included:

Wonderful World of Art Camps - Art of Motion

Campers will learn about the science of kinetic energy. They will learn that harnessing natural elements such as motion, air, and light can create a wondrous work of art. The mechanics of building and layering objects to create art will be taught by creating a windmill and a hand-crafted book.

Morning session - 9 a.m. - noon

Afternoon session, 1- p.m.
