SPMI in Van Buren will host a free webinar June 16 at 2 p.m. to assist employers tackling the Affordable Care Act mandate

"The Affordable Care Act: What Does it mean for your organization?" can provide information and solutions to any obstacles an employer may come across when navigating the ACA requirements, said Kyle Morris, business development manager at SPMI.

"The ACA itself is quite a complicated thing in what it’s asking employers to do," Morris said.

Starting this year, employers with at least 50 full-time equivalent employees or more will be required to report on their employees and healthcare provisions.

Companies must track their employees and submit documentation on their hours and healthcare coverage, among a variety of other requirements, Morris said. The webinar will inform employers on those requirements and how to comply, he said.

"It’s going to help companies avoid potential fines in excess of $1.5 million, or $100 per employee per day," Morris said.

The webinar will show companies the impact on their business and demonstrate SPMI’s ACA Dashboard as a potential reporting requirement solution.
