Tickets will go on sale Sept. 2 for the inaugural "Great Futures Gala" fundraiser for the Boys and Girls Club of Van Buren.

The Sept. 27 "Fiesta for the Future" themed event will feature food and drink, music and entertainment and a live auction, according to Cindy Faldon, BGCVB executive director.

The outdoor celebration will be held at the home of Jeremy and Stephanie Riffle, located in Van Buren’s Scott Farm.

Faldon said the picturesque outdoor venue will set the stage for a fun evening of dinner and dancing.

The club’s board of directors also is currently selling reserved tables and sponsorships as well as putting together spa, sports and trip auction packages.

Individual tickets are $60 and include dinner, adult beverages and a bid number. Table sponsorships start at $500.

"To make this event a success, we need generous businesses, organizations and individuals to serve as sponsors," Faldon said. "Five levels of support are offered, ranging in price and benefits. Each sponsorship tier includes a minimum of eight tickets to the gala."

The event will begin at 6 p.m. Sept. 27. Dinner will be served at 6:30 with the program and live auction to start at 7:30 and music and entertainment at 8. The event will end at 10 p.m.

All proceeds from the gala will benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Van Buren, whose mission is "to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens."

The club offers after school, summer and sports programs, averaging more than 200 students on a daily basis. BGCVB also serves nutritious meals and snacks each day, and sponsors a number of self-esteem and academic programs designed to build confidence and instill values in members, such as SMART Girls and Passport to Manhood.
