Cedarville School District began taking bids Tuesday for paving projects at the elementary school grounds.
School officials are looking to pave the parking lot on the south end of the elementary school and the Old Rock Building, the steps at the health clinic and Old Rock Building and the retaining wall at the health clinic, said Superintendent Dan Foreman.
Estimated cost for the projects is $60,000, Foreman said.
Also during a July 17 meeting, school board members accepted a bid on eight copiers for the high school, middle school and elementary school for $21,319, Foreman said.
Included in the contract is maintenance and ink for the copiers, for which the school will be charged less than 1 cent per copy.
Phil Leraris engineering services was awarded a contract over McClelland Consulting Engineers to oversee the completion of the wastewater plant project, Foreman said.
River Valley Waste Removal was awarded a contract to provide trash services to the school district for $871 per year for eight six-yard dumpsters. River Valley was selected over Waste Management, which put in a bid of $1,196 per year.
Board members approved hiring Whitney Armer as an alternative learning environment teacher, Brent Hubin as a high school math teacher, Sarah Lawson as an English teacher and Cathy Winn as the new elementary principal.
Misty Henderson’s resignation as special education teacher was accepted at the meeting.
