Van Buren police are asking residents to keep their vehicles locked after an overnight rash of break-ins.
Van Buren officers responded to calls of several vehicle break-ins on the 2300 block of Alma Boulevard near Blakemore Field early Friday morning.
One apartment complex alone had 10 vehicles that were entered by the suspect, according to a Van Buren Police Department media release.
Victims of the thefts told police that all of their vehicles were left unlocked overnight, the release states. Several items, including electronics, credit cards and cash, were stolen from the vehicles.
Police are asking residents to lock vehicle doors at night to minimize the risk of becoming a victim of theft.
Van Buren detectives spent Friday morning processing vehicles and collecting evidence, and are working all leads. Anyone with information about the thefts should contact the Van Buren police Department at (479) 474-1234.
