Paul Gene and Dottie Perrier of Mulberry have donated a bench to the Mulberry City Park in memory of Ruth Perrier, who loved reading to children, and her husband Paul Perrier Jr. who was Mulberry’s postmaster for more than 25 years.
The bench, to be used for sitting and reading and watching children play, is located by an October glory maple tree donated by Judy Crawford also in memory of Ruth Perrier.
Ruth Perrier was a fifth and sixth grade school teacher in Mulberry for more than 20 years, and was a 1961 graduate of the University of Arkansas.
Anyone who wishes to donate a bench, tree, playground equipment or other item for Mulberry’s City Park can contact the mayor’s office at the Mulberry City Complex at (479) 997-1321.
Mulberry’s City Park is located on U.S. 64 across from the Mulberry Senior Inn.
