A bazaar focused on products for women will be held Saturday at the Old Rock Schoolhouse in Cedarville.

Deb LaRue and Shanna Davis are hosting a Ladies Day of Shopping from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the old rock building behind the Cedarville School Distric wellness center.

About 15 vendors will be at the event selling products geared toward women, including makeup and beauty products, jewelry, nail wraps, and Valentine’s Day items such as chocolate strawberries and bouquets, LaRue said.

"We’re trying to focus on items women will like, or men can buy for their wives for Valentine’s Day," LaRue said. "Instead of going to Walmart, they can buy something handmade."

Door prizes, including several gift baskets donated by Van Buren businesses, will be given away during the bazaar. Home cooked meals will also be available to dine in or carry out, LaRue said.

LaRue and Davis are holding the event for Valentine’s Day, but also to promote the rock building as an events center, LaRue said.

The building rents for $35 a day for the kitchen and dining hall. A gift shop in the building sells handmade items - such as quilts from the quilting group that meets in the building each week - on consignment.

"I use the building for my Thanksgiving dinner and baby showers, it has great parking, and it’s just a neat building," LaRue said.

LaRue and Davis are renting out vendor tables for their event for $3.50, and everything over the building rental fee will go toward the Old Rock Schoolhouse maintenance fund, LaRue said.

A percentage of the proceeds from the gift shop also go to the fund, she said.
