The Crawford County Library System will launch its summer reading program “A Universe of Stories” throughout the area starting Friday.
Activities will include group games, space-related crafts, art projects, science and engineering experiments and more.
Branches of the library system are located in Alma, Cedarville, Mountainburg, Mulberry and Van Buren.
The 2019 summer reading program is open to all ages with free programs, prize drawings, story times and more.
Kickoff events for the program will be held at several of the local libraries.
At the kickoff parties individuals can register for the program and pick up a schedule of events.
The Ralph D. Graf Library in Mulberry will host its kickoff party at 11 a.m. Friday at the Marvin Primary School, 1319 N. Main St. in Mulberry.
Alma, Mountainburg and Van Buren libraries will host their events on Saturday.
Alma’s party will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the library located at 624 Fayetteville Ave. in Alma.
Mountainburg’s event will be held from noon to 2 p.m. at the library at 225 N. Hwy 71 in Mountainburg.
Van Buren’s event will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at 1409 Main St. in Van Buren.
All events are open to the public and free of charge.
