MULBERRY — The Mulberry Comic Con returns to the Crawford County Fair Grounds at Kirksey Park in Mulberry on Saturday, March 30. 

The event begins with Comic Con 5K at 8 a.m. Registration can be done at the event and is $25 per person.

The Comic Con starts at 11 a.m. and it costs $10 per person and kids ages 12 and under are admitted free with a paying adult. The entry fee includes one ticket for the grand prize drawing of an Xbox One S with Minecraft bundle. Additional tickets can be purchased for $1 or 25 for $20. There will be door prizes every hour, a Walking Dead shooting gallery and various retro video games set up, including “Duck Hunt.”

Comic Con will feature cosplay, car cosplay, canine cosplay ($5 entry fee with the pot split with the winner), panels and activities throughout the day.

Scheduled to patrol the grounds are members from the 501st Legion — Diamond Brigade, the Rebel Legion — Kessel Base and the Mandalorian Mercs — Bes’uliik Clan.

A number of panels will be held during the course of the event. “2 Nerds In Love” will host a panel on cosplaying for couples. Kyle “Squeaky” Herron will lead a panel on the Dungeons & Dragons role-playing game. The Community Arts will host two panels, One featuring grades 3-6 discussing the upcoming production of “The Little Mermaid, Jr.”  The other will feature grades 6-12 discussing their production of  “The Wizard of Oz.”  They will also perform an act from the play. Some of the cast will also be available for autographs.

There will also be a Krav Maga self-defense class. The FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) competition team, StingerBots 7106, will have their bot “Sting” on hand for demonstrations.

Food vendors will include The Pizza Place, Caveman Concessions & Catering and Hungry Wolf Cafe.

A blood drive will also be held from noon to 4 p.m.

The Comic Con is an annual fundraiser for the Ralph D. Graft Library of Mulberry and is sponsored by the Friends of the Mulberry Library.
