The Crawford County Budget Committee approved all the budget requests on its agenda during its meeting held on Tuesday.

The requests were later approved as part of an ordinance to appropriate additional funds and approve additional expenditures to the 2019 budget during the Crawford County Quorum Court meeting that night, according to Linda Horton, chief deputy and Quorum Court clerk in the county clerk’s office.

The largest of the budget requests was one from County Judge Dennis Gilstrap for the road department to appropriate an additional $200,000 from the county road fund to bridge and road construction capital outlay.

Horton said, according to a letter from Gilstrap to the budget committee, the request was to pay for the total cost of the state aid project, a bridge, on Old 81 Loop north of Rudy.

The project was a county matching project. The total estimated cost of the bridge is $360,440, and the state will reimburse the county $150,000 upon completion of the project.

Another approved budget request was also passed during the Quorum Court meeting as part of an ordinance to appropriate additional funds and approve additional expenditures to the 2018 budget.
