Boo on the Bayou is among the October events planned at the Delta Rivers Nature Center at Regional Park in Pine Bluff.
Although the main building of the nature center will be closed to the public through Friday, Oct. 5, for maintenance, the facility will host several upcoming events, according to a newsletter from the Pine Bluff Advertising and Promotion Commission.
Boo on the Bayou - Oct. 26-27
Boo on the Bayou will be held from 6-9 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Oct. 26-27, at the nature center.
“The Delta Rivers Nature Center invites all of you goblins to come out for Boo on the Bayou. This is the area’s largest FREE Halloween event,” according to the newsletter.
“Wear your costume, bring your family and enjoy two nights of fun and scary activities including games, inflatables, the Scary Maze, the Trail of Terror, food vendors and more. Fun for all ages!”

Plant Swap - Saturday, Oct. 13
The nature center’s Plant Swap will be held from 10-11 a.m. Oct. 13. Participants can bring plants to trade or just come by to meet people and trade ideas and knowledge. Bring up to five cuttings, seeds or bulbs to trade with other plant lovers to the classroom in front of the nature center. All ages are welcome to attend and participate.
Quilt Show - Saturday, Oct. 13
From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 13, the quilt show will be held at the center. “Come and see dozens of quilts hanging all through the Delta Rivers Nature Center. Beautiful works of art! If you are a quilter, enter yours for all to see and maybe win a ribbon. There are many categories of quilts, as well as quilt supply vendors and more,” a spokesman said.
Arkansas Hunter Education Course - Tuesday through Thursday, Oct. 16-18
The nature center invites particpants to take the Arkansas Hunter Education Course. Participants must attend all three evenings from 5:30-9 p.m. Oct. 16-18. For registration and details, visit http://www.agfc.com.
About the nature center — There is no fee for nature center programs thanks to the 1/8 Cent Conservation Sales Tax. The Delta Rivers Nature Center is located at 1400 Black Dog Road in Regional Park. The center is open 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, and 1-5 p.m. Sundays.
