Van Buren police have arrested a fourth suspect in the deaths of Alfred “Sonny” and Pauline Carpenter, who were found slain on July 18 in Crawford County.
Christine Marie Tenney, 37, of Santa Fe, Texas, was arrested around 3:30 p.m. Thursday on suspicion of felony abuse of a corpse, theft by receiving, tampering with physical evidence and misdemeanor obstruction of governmental operations in connection with the incident. She will be booked into the Crawford County Detention Center on Thursday without bond, according to a police department news release.
Michael Fowler, who told police he shot and killed the Carpenters in Great Bend, Kan., and transported the bodies to Crawford County, told police Tenney was with him, Rusty Frasier and Kimberly Younger, aka Myrna Khan, during the transportation and burial of the bodies, according to the probable cause affidavit.
Fowler, Frasier and Younger were all arrested on July 18 on suspicion of felony abuse of a corpse, theft by receiving and tampering with physical evidence in connection with the discovery of the bodies.
Police found Tenney, Fowler, Frasier and Younger on July 18 at Vista Hills Apartments from a call stating Tenney was kidnapped, the affidavit states.
