The Van Buren Chamber of Commerce Education Committee, in conjunction with the Van Buren School District, will honor more than 150 of Van Buren High School’s most exceptional students at its Arkansas Scholars Banquet on April 16.

Arkansas Scholars is a prestigious distinction given only to graduates who have achieved a 95 percent or better attendance record in their four years of high school. The students must also have a C or higher average and have completed all the required courses to graduate in four years. Each scholar is presented with a certificate at the banquet and awarded a medallion to wear at graduation.

The banquet will take place in the VBHS Commons and will include dinner and a special program honoring the graduates. Nearly 500 guests are expected to be in attendance including students, parents, district educators, and community leaders.

This event is a prime occasion to showcase a business or organization, said Steve Dufresne, chamber president.

“Your sponsorship dollars are an investment in our city’s future, helping to foster the development of good citizens, a strong workforce, and independent, competent adults in our community through Arkansas Scholars,” Dufresne said.

Sponsorships opportunities are now available, beginning at the $300 table level. Each tier varies in price and marketing benefits. Sponsorship dollars help underwrite the cost of the student medals and the Van Buren Chamber of Commerce’s annual senior scholarship.
