Press Argus-Courier will offer a two-for-one dining card for local restaurants beginning Sept. 20.

Cards can be purchased for $20 at or by calling (479) 474-5215 and will provide two meals for the price of one at 16 participating local restaurants.

There will be a limited quantity of 300 available for purchase, said Kim Hattaway, Press Argus-Courier publisher.

“We are excited to offer this first-time promotion,” Hattaway said. “This card provides a good opportunity to visit your favorite restaurants and also try some new spots.”

Cardholders must present the card at participating restaurants to get the buy-one-get-one deal, Hattaway said. It can be used once at each restaurant taking part in the promotion to save more than $100, she said.

Participating restaurants in Crawford County include Las Fresas Mexican Grill, D&R Trolley Stop, Pizza Parlour, Oliver's Southern Cuisine and Boomarang Diner in Van Buren, and Let’s Eat and Cafe Jitters in Alma.

Also participating are Bob and Wanda’s Wagon Wheel Cafe in Barling and opening soon in Van Buren, Pasta Grill and Gumbo Zedeco in Russellville, Steffey’s Pizza in Lavaca, Cottontown Smokehouse in Paris, Pizza Barn in Greenwood, Catfish N in Dardanelle, The Trellis Room at Post Winery in Altus and Stockyards Feed and Grain in County Line.

Individual restaurants decide which meals are offered as part of the deal, Hattaway said. Customers will be charged for the meal of greatest value.

Using the card is a good way to support local restaurants and the county newspaper while also saving money, Hattaway said.

“The Press Argus-Courier has been part of the fabric of Crawford County for over 158 years, and we continue to be dedicated to serving the community in a variety of ways,” Hattaway said.

Together with the dining card promotion, the Press Argus-Courier is holding a social media contest on Facebook during the month of October.

Cardholders who post a photo of themselves using their card to dine at a participating restaurant and tag the Press Argus-Courier will be entered for a chance to win a $200 Visa gift card.

“While you are out enjoying your meals, take a photo and tag the Press Argus-Courier,” Hattaway said. “The more times you use your card during October, the more entries you will have in the contest.”

Press Argus-Courier personnel will award the $200 gift card on Nov. 3. For more details about the dining card, go to after Sept. 20. To preorder before Sept. 20, call (479) 474-5215 or visit the newspaper office at 100 N. 11th St. in Van Buren.
