Time is running out to secure a spot as a sponsor for the Boys and Girls Club of Van Buren’s third annual Great Futures Gala. The deadline to purchase a table for the event is this Friday.
Presented by Yeagers Hardware, the Rustic Rendezvous themed event will be held Sept. 24. It will take place at the home of Richard and Helen Hodo, located at 1205 Woodland Creek Circle in Van Buren. Guests will enjoy an exciting evening on the picturesque property, which will be adorned with tents filled with festive tables, gourmet food and drink and auction items.
Festivities will get underway at 6 p.m. with a cocktail hour and the opening of the silent auction. A number of prizes will be up for bid, including a wide-range of jewelry, accessories, specialty baskets, gift certificates and home decor. A gourmet dinner will be served at 6:30.
The program will begin at 7 p.m., headed by the master of ceremonies, Daren Bobb. Guests will have the opportunity to learn more about the club and the youth served by the organization, as well as participate in an exciting live auction event. The Eric Mathews Band will also return this year to round out the evening with live music and dancing.
Throughout the night, guests will also have the opportunity to try their luck on the estate’s custom putting green. A “closest to the pin” competition will be held, with winners taking home half of the prize money and the other half benefiting the boys and girls club. Cost will be $20 to enter the contest.
“This year’s event will include some of the same great features our supporters have enjoyed last year, including a large silent auction and exciting live auction event,” said BGCVB Executive Director Cindy Faldon. “We will also take advantage of the estate’s custom putting green, giving guests the chance to win big and also raise additional dollars for the club. In addition to the closest to the pin contest, gala-goers will be able to enjoy rounds of horseshoes and other activities, adding to the overall rustic feel of the event.”
Tickets for the event are $60, with tables seating eight beginning at $500. A number of other sponsorship opportunities are also available. All proceeds benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Van Buren, whose mission is “to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.”
BGCVB serves local youth through its after school, summer, and sports programs, averaging more than 220 students on a daily basis. The club provides nutritious meals and snacks each day, and offers a number of self-esteem and academic programs designed to build confidence and instill values in its members.
Those unable to attend the gala but still want to support the club can make a donation to the organization either online or in-person. Gifts are tax-deductible. To sponsor, or for more information about the gala, visit www.VBClub.org or call (479) 474-9401.
