Vicki Lamproe announced her intention to run for the Alma City Council.

Lamproe is running for the Ward 1 Position 2 seat on the council, which currently is held by Maria Washburn.

Lamproe is owner and operator of Lamproe’s Tax and Bookkeeping Services on U.S. 64 in Alma. She has owned her own business for more than five years, and has worked in bookkeeping and accounting for more than 20 years.

Lamproe also serves as the financial administrator at her church, The House of Restoration in Fort Smith.

“I am honored to run for this position and I am eager to use my skill set to serve the citizens of Alma,” Lamproe said. “The city council controls the city’s finances, and I believe my extensive experience in budgeting and financial reporting will be a strong asset to the Alma City Council.”

A 1980 graduate of Alma High School, Lamproe and her husband John have been residents of Alma for the last 18 years. They have five children, four of whom attended Alma School District.

Lamproe’s twins, Caleb and Abby, currently attend Alma High School. Caleb plays Airedale football and Abby is in the Pride of Alma Marching Band.
