The ninth annual Van Buren Chamber of Commerce Golf Classic is scheduled for Monday, Sept. 19, at Fianna Hills Country Club in Fort Smith.

The event will start at 11:30 a.m. with registration. Lunch will be at noon with the shotgun start to begin at 1 p.m.

Arkansas Valley Electric Cooperative will be the tournament presenting sponsor.

“The classic is quickly approaching and time is running out to secure your spots at this popular event,” Chairman David Young said. “More than half of the team slots have already been filled and are expected to sell out again this year.

The $400 entry per four-person team includes 18 holes of golf, golf cart, lunch, goody bags and lots of door prizes at the event wrap-up. Proceeds will support the chamber’s education scholarship program and other chamber projects.

Lunch sponsor will be Cox Business. There will be four hole-in-one challenges sponsored by Wheeler Motorsports, Westark Yamaha, Randall Ford and Workman Powersports.

Driving range will be sponsored by Choctaw Casino and Resort, longest drive contest by Marrlin Transit Inc., closest-to-the-line contests by A-Z Furniture and FFO Home, closest-to-the-pin contest by Van Buren Municipal Utilities, putting contest by Frost Oil Co., $5 mulligans by Westark Auto Class and drink stations by Bekaert Corp., Centennial Bank and Turf Pro USA.
