Delmar Edward Parks Sr., 76, of Muldrow, formerly of Van Buren, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2015 in a local hospital. He was retired from Temple Supply Company in Fort Smith and a graduate of Van Buren High School Class of 1956. He was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Anna Lou (Bell) Parks, and one son, Darin Parks.
He is survived by his wife, Jean (Myers) Parks of the home; two daughters, Kim Polk and Karen Brown, both of Van Buren; three sons, Eddie Parks, Terry Parks and Delmar Parks Jr., all of Van Buren; two stepdaughters, LaVonda Williamson and Gayle William, both of Muldrow; one sister, Clovie Edwards of Alma; one daughter-in-law, Roberta Parks of Fort Smith; 17 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Feb. 7 at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren.
Family will visit with relatives and friends Friday, Feb. 6 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Michael Polk, Eddie Jr., Matthew, Jason, Jacob, Jonathan, Jeremy, Bradley, Devon, Preston and James Parks and Josh Brown.
Honorary pallbearers will be his granddaughters, Carrie Sanders and Kristy Fox.
