The Cedarville and Mulberry women’s teams found a way to take third at their respective tournaments. The Cedarville and Mountainburg men’s team dropped their final game.

The Lady Pirates, who have won two of their last three games, defeated Shiloh Christian on Monday at the Ozarks Bank Tournament in Ozark, 61-54.

Cedarville climbed to a two-point lead in the first quarter, 12-10, and kept the Saints at length the duration of the game. The Lady Pirates was up 25-23 at halftime and 39-36 after three quarters of play.

Shanda Brown led a trio of players for Cedarville in double digits as she finished with 16 points. Both Allie Arnold and Bailee Murphy had 14 points each.


After suffering a loss to Paris on Saturday, Mulberry bounced back to topple Heavener 59-46 with junior Brittany Edwards scoring a game-high 24 points.

Senior Logan Archer and junior Taylor Neagle had 11 points each, and Lexi Voorhees added nine.

Mulberry led 30-23 in the first half and 44-33 after three quarters of play.


Lincoln used a 28-9 over more than two quarters to rally past the Pirates in the boys final.

Cedarville had a 16-8 lead nearing the end of the first quarter, but managed only just nine points in the next 10-plus minutes as the Wolves went ahead 32-25.

Lincoln built a double-digit lead midway through the third quarter before Cedarville threatened to bring it below 10 with 1:30 left. Tyler Cummings’ transition lay-up capped a 6-0 run to end the quarter, though, and the Pirates never came that close again.

Justin Brewer was named MVP and led all scorers with 19 points. Garrett Parson had 17 for Cedarville.



The Dragons lost to Bigelow 66-56. Lonnie Campbell led with 18. Zack Wolfgram had 12 and Trey Allen tossed in nine.
