MONTICELLO — The University of Arkansas at Monticello football team is looking to remain unbeaten at home this season Saturday when Southern Nazarene comes to town for UAM’s 81st annual Homecoming.

The Weevils enter Saturday’s game with a 4-3 overall record with a 3-3 record in Great American Conference games following a 41-27 win over Lindenwood-Belleville last Saturday at home in the only non-conference game of the 2013 season. Southern Nazarene comes to Monticello with an 0-7 overall record with the same mark in the GAC following a 66-17 loss to Southern Arkansas last Saturday at home in Bethany, Okla.

UAM used all three of its quarterbacks for the fifth time this season in last week’s win over LU-Belleville. Sophomore Colton Morrison got the start, but sophomore Cody Trimble turned in a career-day, going 26-of-39 through the air for 290 yards and four touchdowns, three going to senior Jamal Nixon, who finished the game with nine receptions for 120 yards. Junior Rod Smith leads the UAM rushing with a total of 130 carries for 419 yards and six touchdown rushes this season.

The Crimson Storm rank near the bottom of the most GAC statistical categories, including 10th in scoring at 15.3 points per game, 10th in total offense at292.4 yards per game and last in total defense with 539.7 yards allowed pergame. Senior quarterback Dylan Terry leads the Storm with 1,091 passing yards on 120 completions. He has thrown five touchdown passes with 10 interceptions. Chris Hunter is the leading rusher on the team with 90 carries for 339 yards with five touchdowns. However, Hunter has not played in the past three games.

The Weevils have won four of the last five Homecoming battles. All-time, UAM is 40-39-1 in Homecoming games.

Following a 41-27 non-conference victory over Lindenwood-Belleville last Saturday at home, the Weevils return to Great American Conference play on Saturday and for the rest of the season. UAM is 3-3 in Great American Conference games this season.

The Weevils are at home for the final time of the 2013 season next Saturdayagainst nationally fifth-ranked Henderson State for Senior Day. The Reddies are 7-0 overall and 6-0 in the GAC heading into this Saturday’s road game against Harding.
